By signing the below, I hereby attest and affirm that the information provided herein is complete and accurate. 

 
Registration: If your application to participate on the 2027 GBFB Hunger Heroes team (the "GBFB Team") is accepted, all Participants are responsible for paying a $100 non-refundable Team fee, which will be applied towards team gear and other resources provided for GBFB's team.
 
Charity Runners accepted onto the 2027 GBFB Team must separately register for the Boston Marathon with the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) to be officially registered in the Boston Marathon and receive an official race bib. GBFB staff will assist Charity Runners with this registration process.
 
The BAA charges a mandatory $375 race application fee (due in January 2027) that does not count toward the minimum fundraising commitment - this application fee is your sole responsibility.

Bibs are NON-TRANSFERABLE. You may not give your bib to another runner if you are no longer able to participate.  
 
By submitting this application, I acknowledge and agree to the following:
 

• To run in the marathon, I must fundraise a minimum designated fundraising commitment amount which is at least $15,000 in donations for GBFB.
• I must further meet the following fundraising milestones for the GBFB Team:
• December 31, 2025:  $2,000
• February 12, 2027:    $6,000
• March 12, 2027:        $10,000
• April 13 2027:            $13.,500
  
• April 19, 2027:           $15,000

B) Registered Runners (runners who already have a bib for the 2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon):

1. I must fund raise at least $3,000 in donations for GBFB by April 19, 2027.
   
   
2. Picking up your race bib prior to meeting the $15,000 minimum fundraising obligation is highly discouraged.
   
   
3. I will provide my valid credit card information to GBFB if selected to run.
   
   
4. I understand and agree that if I have not reached the above minimum donation amount by April 19, 2027, I will personally be responsible for the balance owed. I understand and agree that GBFB reserves the right to charge the difference on my credit card if the above minimum donation amounts are not met by the date provided. If my credit card is not valid for any reason, I understand and agree that GBFB reserves the right to pursue collection of the amount owed, and that I will be fully responsible for any and all legal fees incurred by GBFB with this collection process.
   
   
5. I understand and agree that donations raised for GBFB will not be refunded under any circumstance including in the event of the Boston Marathon being cancelled.
   
   
6. Matching Gift Policy: Many companies match employees’ charitable contributions. I understand that matching donations will apply to the fundraising minimum if proof of incoming match is provided before the fundraising minimum deadline. I understand that it is my responsibility to contact the company to provide all matching donation information and ensure that the donation is processed.

I understand that there are no refunds of any donations received prior to or after officially registering for the Boston Marathon, I understand that the minimum fundraising commitments must be met, even if I am injured or am unable to participate in the Boston Marathon for any reason. I understand that if I cancel my participation after accepting my position on the GBFB Team and have not met the minimum fundraising obligation, GBFB reserves the right to charge my credit card for the balance owed.

Submission of this application does not guarantee a spot on the GBFB Marathon Team.
 
Participant General Release and Agreement
 
In consideration of participation on the 2027 GBFB marathon team (the “Team”), including participation in Team events, Team travel and Team training sessions, and participation in the 2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon (together with Team training sessions and events, the “Events”), I, individually, and on behalf of my spouse, child/children, family, relatives, heirs, successors, and assigns (collectively, “Participant”) hereby agree:
 

1. That participation on the Team and in the Events is voluntary. Participant understands and voluntarily assumes all risks, hazards and dangers associated with such participation, including personal injury, exposure to communicable diseases, viruses and illnesses, and lost, stolen or damaged property;
   
   
2. To adhere to any health guidelines, regulations, and restrictions put in place by GBFB or The Boston Athletic Association with respect to the Team and the Events;
   
   
3. That Participant is physically fit and able to participate in the Events, and a licensed medical doctor has verified Participant’s physical condition. In the event of an illness, injury or medical emergency arising during an Event, Participant hereby authorizes and gives consent to GBFB to secure from an accredited hospital, clinic and/or physician any treatment deemed necessary for Participant’s immediate care. Participant agrees that he/she will be fully responsible for payment of any and all medical services and treatment rendered to him/her, including but not limited to medical transport, medication treatment and hospitalization;
   
   
4. To release and forever discharge all entities and persons associated and affiliated with the Team and the Events, including but not limited to GBFB, Team coaches, trainers and product sponsors, and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, members, owners, employees, agents, and representatives (together the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims or liabilities, in equity and law, including but not limited to personal injuries (including death) and/or damages Participant and/or Participant’s property may sustain in connection with use of the Team or Events, even if those claims or liabilities arise out of the negligence or carelessness of one or more of the Released Parties. Participant understands that the number and magnitude of the claims and liabilities released hereto may not currently be fully known, but nevertheless releases those unknown claims;
   
   
5. To defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all demands, claims, disputes, actions, causes of action, losses, damages, penalties, recoveries, judgments or executions, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees), of any and every kind, arising from or in connection with Participant’s participation on the Team and/or participation in the Events, except to the extent arising from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Released Parties;
   
   
6. That photographs, videos, and other images of the Participant may be taken in relation to the Team and the Events and to assign all rights in those items to the Released Parties. Participant’s name, image and likeness may be used, without compensation to Participant, by the Released Parties and/or their designers for commercial or promotional purposes in connection with the Team and/or the Events.
